"There's more than one way to Bow down!"

No more excuses!

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:13

How many times, have you heard this scripture preached or taught, and the emphasis is placed on the sacrifice of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. The fact that we should love others as Christ loved us, is this great sacrifice, when mankind is failing in every attempt to duplicate the act, seems unattainable by the masses. As I meditate on this scripture, to further enact understanding of it's depth, it was revealed that “lay down his life for his friend” does not singularly mean to only die, as in death, as the only true means to show a “greater love.” We, as ministry leaders, ordinary persons, or just titled as "Believers'", should not be only deemed willingly extreme, or look for dangerous situations or events to prove our love; but just humbly think of ways and means to 'lay down our life” by act that help maintain and preserve our “friend” in their environment until the day of Christ return. “Friend' meaning God's creations = mankind! Ok, so you ask, HOW DO I DO THAT? Well first, you must understand the great love that Jesus is portraying is a sacrificial, unselfish, and charitable love. It is neighbor to "grace" that is also "unmerited favor." I realize people can become annoyed with each other for many reasons. Emotionally one might feel it difficult to be caring for those who offend and hurt them. But God's love transcends emotion or physical attraction. God's love is based in His character and benevolence. God's love sees the need, ignoring whether the needy are desiring, but instead choosing to help those in need.

Loving a '”friend” involves sharing his burdens and caring for the their welfare.

There is more than one way you can lay down your life for a friend!

BOW DOWN! is to "LAY DOWN"= pride, self-righteousness, selfishness, cynical, untrusting, self- exaltation, prejudicial behavior......

FOR WHO? Friend = homeless, neighbors, pants-hanging-down youth, alcoholics, drug addicts, family, co-workers, church members...... everyone!

No More Excuses!
